Important Announcement
Benefit enhancement from 1 January 2026
The Ministry of Health (MOH) recently announced an enhancement to our national long-term care insurance, CareShield Life (CSHL). From 1 January 2026, the scheme’s monthly payout growth rate will be doubled from the current 2% to 4% a year, with government support to cushion the resulting premium increases. You may refer to the MOH website: www.moh.gov.sg for more details on the CSHL enhancement.
Starting from 1 January 2026, Income Insurance will introduce an ‘adjusted benefit’ to enhance the Care Secure disability benefit for severe disability claims. Currently, the Care Secure disability benefit for severe disability claims will pay the difference between 100% of the disability benefit and the CSHL benefit that applies the scheme’s stipulated growth rate of the monthly payout at that time.
With the introduction of the ‘adjusted benefit’, this will continue to assume the current growth rate of 2% for the CSHL monthly payout. This maintains the difference between 100% of the disability benefit for severe disability and the payout by CSHL even when the CSHL growth rate subsequently increases to 4% from 2026.
With this enhancement to the disability benefit for severe disability claims, the policyholders will maintain an equivalent protection under Care Secure while receiving a higher monthly payout under the enhanced CSHL scheme from January 2026 onwards.
To ensure a seamless transition, the enhanced disability benefit will be automatically applied to your Care Secure policy from 1 January 2026.
