Income Insurance has withdrawn these 4 riders for new applications of Enhanced IncomeShield, IncomeShield and IncomeShield Standard Plan as of 1 March 2019 – Plus Rider, Assist Rider, Daily Cash Rider and Child Illness Rider.
Under the guidelines stipulated by the Ministry of Health (MOH), all Integrated Shield Plan (IP) insurers are to incorporate co-payment features in new IP riders. This is aligned with recommendations by the Health Insurance Task Force (HITF) to encourage all stakeholders to play a more active role in managing their medical care costs, and are part of collective efforts to ensure that medical care and health insurance remain accessible and sustainable in Singapore.
MOH has developed a Cancer Drug List (CDL) comprising clinically proven and more cost-effective cancer treatments. From 1 September 2022, MediShield Life (MSHL) and MediSave (MSV) will only cover treatments on the Cancer Drug List. From 1 April 2023, we have introduced a new Additional Cancer Drug Treatment benefit for your Plus Rider and Assist Rider to supplement your coverage on outpatient cancer drug treatments.
