Death benefit

Stay covered in the event of death.

Additional payout in the event of death

Receive an additional 25% of the sum assured if death was caused by an accident.

Total and permanent disability benefit

You will also be protected against total and permanent disability before age 65 with additional payouts[1] in addition to receiving the sum assured. 

Permanent and partial disability benefit

In the event of permanent and partial disability due to an accident before age 65[2], you will receive a percentage of the sum assured.

37 Critical Illness Rider (Optional)

You will receive a lump sum payout upon a diagnosis of any of the 37 critical illnesses[3]. For angioplasty and other invasive treatment for coronary artery, payment is limited to 10% of the sum assured, subject to a maximum of $25,000. You can choose your sum assured in multiples of $10,000, up to $200,000 each for you and your husband or wife. The maximum sum assured for your child is $100,000. The 37 critical illness covered under this rider are listed below. 1. Major Cancer 2. Heart Attack of Specified Severity 3. Stroke with Permanent Neurological Deficit 4.     Only employees of a corporatised organisation may apply for cover under this plan.

    To apply for your husband, wife, or children4, they must be a Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident or foreigner who is working or residing in Singapore.

    Maximum sum assured

    You can choose your sum assured in multiples of $10,000, up to $300,000 each for you and your husband or wife for CEGIS term life coverage, and up to $200,000 each for you and your husband or wife for 37 critical illness rider. The maximum sum assured for your child is $100,000 for both CEGIS term life coverage and 37 critical illness rider.

    Yes, but you are required to sign up for CEGIS cover under your new company’s master policy contract. You can continue to enjoy the benefits under your CEGIS plan as long as you continue your employment with any Corporatised Entity that has a CEGIS master policy contract with Income. Otherwise, your cover will cease upon your termination of employment with your existing company.

    You have to notify Income of the date of your last day of service with your present company. Should you be joining another Corporatised Entity that has a CEGIS master policy contract with Income, please also notify us on the commencement date of your new posting.     No, the sum assured for your Critical Illness Rider cannot exceed the sum assured under your CEGIS Basic Plan.

    No, the sum assured for your spouse and children should not exceed your sum assured unless your sum assured is reduced by Income due to underwriting reasons.

    Your coverage will not be affected as long as you continue to pay the premiums on the due dates via GIRO during the No-Pay Leave period. Please notify us of the commencement date of your No-Pay Leave period.

    You will need to fill in and sign the No-Pay Leave Notification Form. Please mail your completed and signed form to "Income Insurance Limited, Income Centre, 75 Bras Basah Road, Singapore 189557" for the attention of “Group Business – Affinity Schemes”.

    No, your cover and your spouse and children’s cover (if applicable) will automatically cease.

    No, you are generally not required to undergo medical checkup when you apply for CEGIS plan. However, if our underwriters require a medical checkup to underwrite your application, we will notify you in writing.

    All new applications will be subject to underwriting. Depending on your pre-existing illness, Income may accept your application based on the following terms.

    • Reduced sum assured
    • Special terms with exclusions

    You can refer to the following table for the refund you will be getting.

    You should note that for any new application, it will be subject to underwriting.

    You will need to fill in and sign the CEGIS Application Form and Authorisation for Salary Deduction Form and submit them to Income via your HR Department.

    You will need to fill in and sign the Alteration and declaration of continued insurability form for any reduction of your sum assured. However, you will not be required to complete the “Declaration of continued insurability questionnaire” section.

    Please mail your completed and signed form to “Income Insurance Limited, Income Centre, 75 Bras Basah Road, Singapore 189557” for the attention of “Group Business – Affinity Schemes”.

    You should note that for any increase in sum assured, your application will be subject to underwriting. There is also an additional check on the maximum sum assured for an individual life in cases of increasing sum assured.

    You will need to fill in and sign the Alteration and declaration of continued insurability form for any increase of sum assured.

    You should note that your application to include Critical Illness Rider will be subject to underwriting.

    Please fill in and sign the Alteration and declaration of continued insurability form and mail your completed and signed form to “ Income Insurance Limited, Income Centre, 75 Bras Basah Road, Singapore 189557” for the attention of “Group Business – Affinity Schemes”.

    Your spouse and children can only take up the Critical Illness Rider if you are covered under Critical Illness Rider unless your application has been declined due to underwriting reason.

    Understand the details

    [1] We pay a further monthly payout of 1% of the sum assured for the next 24 months or until the insured reaches the age of 65 or until the insured dies, whichever is earliest.

    [2] Permanent and partial disability must happen within 365 days from the date of the accident.

    [3] A survival period of 30 days from the date the insured is diagnosed with the critical illness will apply. For major cancer, coronary artery by-pass surgery, heart attack of specified severity, angioplasty and other invasive treatment for coronary artery and other serious coronary artery disease, a waiting period of 90 days from the start date or reinstatement date (if any) of the insured’s cover, whichever is later will apply. For the other remaining critical illnesses, a waiting period of 30 days from the start date or reinstatement date (if any) of the insured’s cover, whichever is later will apply.

    [4] Your husband or wife and children will be eligible to apply for cover if you, as an employee of the corporatised organisation, are insured under the plan. You will need to be insured under CEGIS term life coverage before your husband or wife and children can apply for cover under the plan. To apply for 37 critical illness rider for your husband or wife and children, they must be insured with CEGIS term life coverage and you must be insured under the 37 critical illness rider. The sum assured for your husband or wife or children must not be more than your sum assured unless we have reduced your sum assured due to underwriting reasons.
    If you end your policy or is no longer the employee of the corporatised organisation, the cover for your husband or wife and children will end. The cover for your husband or wife will also end if you are separated or divorced from your husband or wife.

    [5] This plan does not cover any claim or loss arising from insured taking part in full-time National Service.

    [6] Premium rate is applicable only to insured aged 19 to 45 (age next birthday) for sum assured at $50,000 for the CEGIS Term Life Coverage and $50,000 for the 37 Critical Illness Rider.

    There are certain conditions whereby the benefits under this plan will not be payable. You can refer to your policy contract for the precise terms, conditions and exclusions of the plan. The policy contract will be issued when your application is accepted.

    This policy is protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for your policy is automatic and no further action is required from you.
