No, you are not allowed to choose the coverage amount for your renovations and home contents. Your insured premises will be covered up to $50,000 for renovations and $10,000 for home contents. If you need a higher coverage, you may wish to consider our Enhanced Home Insurance or Home Ultimate Protect.

No, you are not allowed to choose the effective date and coverage period. The effective date of the policy is determined by the date of the application received.

  • For application received from 1st - 15th of the month, coverage will start on 1st of the following month; and
  • For application received from 16th to end of the month, coverage will start on 15th of the following month.

The coverage period of this policy is 6 months from the effective date.

Upon submission of the application, an acknowledgement of receipt of the application will be sent via email to you.

Upon acceptance of the application, a confirmation email will be sent to you confirming about your coverage before the start of the coverage date.

An advisor will be assigned to the policy after your application have been successfully accepted. You may reach out to the Income advisor indicated in the confirmation email. The contact details of the advisor can be found in the email sent to you.

  1. Renovations means improvements and additions made within the premises in the form of fixtures and fittings. For example, this could include flooring, built-in wardrobes and kitchen cabinets. For Housing Development Board (HDB) flats, condominiums, apartments or cluster houses, it will exclude fixtures and fittings based on HDB’s or the property developer’s standard specifications.
  2. Contents means any physical and movable household items or personal belongings; including money and valuables kept within the premises that belong to you or your family members. This does not include:
    • any motor vehicles, watercraft and their accessories;
    • livestock or pets;
    • any item used in connection with your business, trade or profession;
    • any item not belonging to you but which you have control over or are looking after; and
    • any item forming part of the renovations.
  3. Insured events means:
    • Fire, lightning or explosion.
    • Actual or attempted theft as long as force and violence are used to get into or out of the premises. You must not leave the premises unoccupied.
    • Bursting or overflowing of domestic water tanks, apparatus or pipes in your premises (but not damage to water tanks, apparatus and pipes and expenses for tracing the source of the leak). The premises must not be left unoccupied.
    • Hurricane, cyclone, typhoon, windstorm, earthquake or volcanic eruption.
    • Flood caused by water overflowing or escaping from its normal channels. This includes flood caused by the sea, windstorm, bursting or overflowing of public water mains or any other flow or build-up of water coming from outside the building structures.
    • Riot, strike or malicious act.

This policy is protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC). Coverage for your policy is automatic and no further action is required from you. I understand and agree to the following:

  1. Cover is only for eligible customers nominated by the selected group policyholder.
  2. Cover is subject to policy terms, conditions and exclusions and they can be found in the policy conditions.
  3. For application received from 1st - 15th of the month, coverage will start on 1st of the following month and for application received from 16th to end of the month, coverage will start on 15th of the following month.
  4. Income reserves the right to reject any application for this insurance.
  5. An acknowledgement of receipt of the application will be sent via email upon submission of this application. Confirmation of coverage will be emailed to you before the start of the coverage date upon acceptance
  6. I confirm that I understand and agree to the 'Personal data use statement'.
  7. I agree that if I or any #Relevant Person is found to be a +Prohibited Person:
    • you are entitled not to accept this application; and
    • if any policy is issued, you are entitled to end this policy, not pay any benefit or not allow any transaction, such as surrender and assignment, to be carried out under this policy. You will not refund any unutilised premium when this policy is ended
  8.  I authorise, consent and agree to the following:
    • Income Insurance Parties to collect from and/or disclose to the group policyholder, the personal data for all the relevant purposes listed above and in Income’s Privacy Policy including to respond to enquiries from the group policyholder for the purposes of this application and policy servicing matters, including confirmation of eligibility for the cover; and
    • The group policyholder to disclose the personal data to Income Parties for all the relevant purposes listed above and in Income’s Privacy Policy.

Your decision in every respect of the above will be final. I will inform you immediately if there is any change in my or any Relevant Person's identity, status or identity documents.

#Relevant Person includes insured, trustee, settlor, beneficiary, assignee, nominee, payee, mortgagee, financier of this application/policy, and in relation to an entity, its director, partner, manager, person having executive authority, authorised signatory, shareholder or beneficial owner.

+Prohibited Person means a person or entity who is, or who is ^Related to a person or entity:

  • subject to laws, regulations or sanctions administered by any inter-government, government, regulatory or law enforcement authorities of any country, which will prohibit or restrict you from providing insurance or carrying out any transaction under this policy, or
  • who is involved in any terrorist or illegal activities or placed on sanctions listing or issued with freezing order.

^Related includes relationships such as parent, step-parent, child, step-child, adopted child, spouse, sibling, step-sibling, adopted sibling, parent-in-law, child-in-law, sibling-in-law, cousin, uncle, aunt, grandparents, niece, nephew, grandchild, employee, employer, associate, parent company, subsidiary and shareholder.

By providing the information and submitting this application or transaction, I/we consent and agree to Income Insurance Limited (“Income Insurance”), its representatives, agents, relevant third parties (referred to in Income Insurance’s Privacy Policy at https://www.income.com.sg/privacy-policy), Income Insurance’s appointed insurance intermediaries and their respective third party service providers and representatives (collectively “Income Insurance Parties”) to collect, use, and disclose any personal data in this form or obtained from other sources, including existing personal data provided, any future updates and subsequent information on my/our health or financial situation (collectively “personal data”) for the purposes of processing and administering my/our insurance application or transaction, managing my/our relationship and policies with Income Insurance including providing me/us with financial advice/ financial planning services, sending me/us corporate communication and information on products and/or services related to my/our ongoing relationship with Income Insurance, conducting consumer profiling/data analytic/research, which includes data matching based on personal data collected by Income Insurance, its affiliates, business partners and/ or NTUC Enterprise group of social enterprises (“NE Group”)  where required for Income Insurance, its affiliates, business partners and/or NE Group, to develop, improve and/ or customise their products/ services and/ or to provide me/us with their respective products /services, and in the manner and for other purposes described in Income Insurance’s Privacy Policy.

Where the personal data of another person(s) (fo­­­­r example, personal data of the insured person, my/our family member, employee, payee/payor or beneficiary) is provided by me/us (whether in this or subsequent submissions) or from other sources to Income Insurance Parties, I/we represent and warrant that:

  • I/we have obtained their consent for the collection, use and disclosure of their personal data; and
  • I am/we are authorised to give any authorization and approval on their behalf

for the purposes as set out in this Personal Data Use Statement.

I/We agree that if my/our policy(ies) premiums are paid by third-party payor(s), I/We consent to the use and disclosure of my/our relevant policy(ies) information including the insured's name by Income Insurance to such third-party payor(s) for the purposes of processing and/or administering premiums payments for my/our policy(ies).
