Coaching on Social Media Marketing

With Andrea Chong and creative agency, DC Creative

Popular blogger and founder of creative agency DC Creative, Andrea Chong, was a coach on our Coaching Programme that comes under the Income OrangeAid Future Development Programme (FDP) Alumni initiative.

For three months, four of our past and current beneficiairies were coached by Andrea, during which they learnt about building a start-up creative business and what it takes to succeed in social media marketing.

“Not everyone has the opportunity to be engaged in behind-the-scene content development for a brand. Andrea's coaching was very hands-on and it gave me alot of practical insights to how the things can be done The experience priceless,” commented Bill, who aspires to build his own start-up one day.

Annur Munirah, Belicia Gwee, Jesline Wong and Bill Chan gained industry knowledge and exposure to digital marketing and social media advertising as they worked with Andrea to conceptualize, execute and deliver a brand marketing campaign. With Andrea’s guidance, they also picked up technical skills required for creating a professional business proposal suited to a client's brief and target audience.

Belicia and Munirah were introduced to applications such as Photoshop and Premiere Pro, tools commonly used by creative agencies to create and edit marketing assets.

Munirah said, “Seeing how Andrea cut and trim the clips that I shot and put together taught me how different tones and angles make a difference in the message being delivered and significantly improves its quality.”

Overall, our mentees felt that the experience had expanded their horizons to career options at a creative start-up, brand and social media marketing, which value-dded beyond their course of study in school. They were also keen to participate in another coaching programme again, if possible.
