Coaching Programme

A 2018 graduate survey conducted with FDP Alumni found that 3 in 4 respondents were not in their desired job.

The Coaching Programme was born with the objective of expanding the horizons of past and current Future Development Programme (FDP) beneficiaries about alternative career choices.

This derived from findings and conversations with Alumni and staff of Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) when it was found that a sizeable number of graduates ended up working in jobs unrelated to their field of study.

The programme is designed to complement career mentoring programmes at polytechnics and ITE, and curates coaches based on the youths’ regular feedback on career interests.

How does it work?

Coaches are specialists and experts in their respective fields, who are keen to share their industry knowledge and expertise with youths. They participate in the programme on pro-bono basis and each commit to mentoring five FDP beneficiaries for a period of three months. For beneficiaries, it’s an invaluable chance to assess if it is a path that they want to pursue further.
