  • For travellers going to Bangkok, please note that there was a travel advisory issued by Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 18 August 2015. For policies purchased after 18 August 2015 00:00hr, Income travel policy will not respond to the benefits: ‘Cancelling your trip’ & ‘Postponing Your Trip’.  
  • Policyholders whose travel policies were activated on or before 18 August 2015 00:00hr (for travel to Bangkok before 18 September 2015) may submit a trip cancellation or trip postponement claim; OR receive full premium refund if they choose to cancel their travel policy.  If they wish to proceed with their trip to Bangkok, we will pay for any overseas claims incurred.  All claims will be assessed as per policy terms and conditions.

What it covers

Pre-existing medical conditions while overseas [1]

We provide coverage for your pre-existing medical conditions while overseas if you opt for our Enhanced PreX plan [2].

We cover you for travel delays as long as the delays are not caused by you (natural disasters included).

Trip modifications

We cover you if you cancel, postpone or shorten your trip due to causes specified in the policy.

Medical expenses

We cover your medical expenses incurred if you unexpectedly suffer an injury or sickness during your trip.

Loss of baggage, money and personal items

We provide coverage for the loss, theft and damage of your belongings.

Enhance your coverage

You can even get cover for the following benefits if you suffer losses due to a pre-existing medical condition when you take on our Enhanced PreX plan[2]:

Before you apply

You must:

  • Be living or working in Singapore
  • Be holding a valid Singapore identification document (NRIC, employment pass, work permit, long-term visit pass or student pass)
  • Be starting and ending your trip in Singapore for return-trip covers, or starting in Singapore and ending in the overseas destination when the policy ends for one-way trip covers
  • Have fully paid for your policy before leaving Singapore

  1. You can enjoy coverage under the Enhanced PreX plan up to a maximum of 30 calendar days in a row while overseas.
  2. We will cover you if you unexpectedly suffer any losses due to your pre-existing medical condition under Section 14 – Medical expenses overseas, Section 18 – Emergency medical evacuation, Section 19 – Sending you home and Section 23 – Emergency phone charges. Please refer to the policy contract for the list of the conditions and exclusions specified under these sections. We will not pay the first $100 for each visit for your outpatient medical treatment and also for claims arising from a pre-existing medical condition where you have been given a terminal prognosis with a life expectancy of under 12 months.
  3. We will pay you for travel delay if the public transport you are scheduled to travel in during your trip is delayed for more than six hours in a row and is not caused by you.
  4. We will pay you for baggage delay if your checked-in baggage has been delayed, misdirected or temporarily misplaced by any transport operator for more than six hours in a row.
  5. Our hotline operating hours are from Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 8.30pm.
  6. Your coverage period will be automatically extended at no extra cost for the first 14 days while you are overseas if you are:
    - unable to return before the policy expires due to the delay of the public transport that you are travelling on, and the delay is not caused by you, or,
    - hospitalised or quarantined overseas as advised by a medical practitioner.

Exclusions

 

There are certain conditions whereby the benefits under this plan will not be payable. You can refer to your policy contract for the precise terms, conditions and exclusions of the plan. The policy contract will be issued when your application is accepted.

This policy is protected under the Policy Owners’ Protection Scheme which is administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC).
