Making a Travel Claim

The documents required for the various types of claims are:

 

Personal Accident Benefit

  • Police Report
  • Medical Report (for permanent disability)
  • Death certificate, autopsy report, coroner's findings (death claim)
  • Please provide proof of relationship between insured and claimant

 

Medical Expenses

  • Original Medical Bills
  • Airticket or boarding pass or passport which shows the date of departure and return to Singapore

 

Extension of stay/Compassionate visit expenses

  • Hospital bill
  • Invoice/receipt for accomodation
  • Invoice/receipt for travelling expenses (eg. airticket/taxi)

 

Trip Cancellation/Curtailment Cover

  • Air ticket
  • Tour itinerary
  • Tour booking invoice
  • Claim letter to travel agency (confirming amount of refund)
  • Doctor's diagnosis memo (for serious illness/injury)
  • Death certificate (where someone's death caused this cancellation)
  • Documents showing insured's relationship with deceased/injured/sick person
  • Documents confirming travel agent's bankruptcy/insolvency (if applicable)
  • Documents confirming hijacking of insured's public conveyance with at least 12 hours interruption of journey (if applicable)

 

Overbooked Flight/Missed Connection/Travel Delay

  • Flight Ticket
  • Boarding Pass
  • Airline Confirmation Letter
  • Flight itinerary (if flight ticket doesn't show the details of the dates/times/destination of flights)

 

Personal Baggage/Travel Documents

  • Baggage loss/damage report (for baggage damaged/lost by airline)
  • Authority (e.g Airlines) confirmation letter stating the compensation amount
  • Photographs of damage
  • Police Report (for lost items)
  • Receipts of purchase of lost items

 

Emergency Telephone Charges

  • Original telephone bills

 

Loss of Money

  • Police Report (reported to Police within 24 hours of occurence)

 

Baggage Delay

  • Baggage Delay Report
  • Air Ticket/Flight itinerary
  • Airline confirmation letter of delay duration

 

Home Contents Cover

  • Police/SCDF report (reported to relevant authorities within 24 hours of the discovery of loss)
  • Photographs of damage
  • Receipts of purchase of lost items

 

Rental Vehicle Excess

  • Rental Vehicle Agreement
  • Accident/Police Report
  • Invoices for rental vehicle excess/Repair Bill
