Q:Can my husband or wife and I (both NTUC members) buy a plan each and cover each other?A:
Yes, you can do so. However, the total sum assured for an individual life should not be more than $200,000.
Q:If I wish to purchase the LUV plan for my husband or wife and children, is it compulsory for them to take up NTUC membership?A:
No, it is only compulsory for you (the main insured) to be an NTUC member.
Q:Can I purchase both the Basic cover and Deluxe cover for myself?A:
Yes you can, as long as the total sum assured for yourself does not exceed $200,000.
Q:Is the hospital cash benefit limited to 365 days per lifetime or per policy year and will any claims reduce my total sum assured?A:
The daily hospital cash benefit is payable up to a maximum of 365 days for each period of hospital stay in Singapore.
We will pay you $5 for every $10,000 sum assured for each day you have to stay in hospital. This is provided that each stay in the hospital must be for at least six hours in a row before any benefit is payable. This is a separate benefit and does not affect your total sum assured.
Q:If I were to change jobs or am in between jobs, will I still be covered under LUV plan?A:
Yes, you are covered. LUV plan is exclusively for NTUC members. Your policy will remain in force unless you terminate your NTUC membership.
Q:If I die overseas, will I be covered?A:
Yes, you will be covered as LUV offers a 24-hour worldwide insurance cover.
Q:What are the general exclusions for both Basic cover and Deluxe cover?A:
The list of exclusions is as follows:

Application & Procedure
Q:If I am interested to take up LUV plan but I am not a NTUC member, how do I apply for the NTUC membership?
Q:Am I required to go for a medical checkup to apply for LUV plan?A:
No, you are generally not required to undergo a medical checkup when you apply for LUV plan. However, if our underwriters require a medical checkup to underwrite your application, we will notify you in writing.
Q:What are the payment methods available to me?A:
Your premiums can be paid either on a monthly or yearly basis and will be deducted via your GIRO account with us. The first GIRO deduction will be made 2 to 3 working days after our acceptance of your application and upon approval of your GIRO application. If the first GIRO deduction is unsuccessful, a second attempt will be made on the next available deduction date which is on the 6th or 18th of the month. Please ensure there are sufficient funds in your bank account on the GIRO deduction dates to avoid your policy from lapsing due to a shortfall of premium collection.
Q:Are my premium rates guaranteed?A:
No, your premium rates are not guaranteed. The premiums that you pay are based on the sum assured and insured's age next birthday. Premium rates will change when the insured enters a higher age band. Income reserves the right to review and change the premium rates from time to time by giving 30 days written notice to NTUC and the new premium rates shall apply to all insured.
Q:If I terminate my NTUC membership, will my LUV plan be terminated?A:
Yes, your policy will be terminated when you terminate your NTUC membership.
Q:If I terminate my NTUC membership or my LUV policy, will my husband or wife and children still be insured under LUV plan?A:
No, your husband or wife and children will not be covered under LUV plan once you terminate either your NTUC membership or your LUV plan.
Q:What should I do if I wish to add my husband or wife and children under the plan?A:
Please fill in and sign the LUV application form. You will also need to fill in and sign a new GIRO application form. Please leave the “Policy Number/Reference” field blank in the form.

Q:How do I downgrade my plan type (sum assured) and my cover from Deluxe cover to Basic cover?A:
You will need to fill in and sign the Alteration and Declaration of Continued Insurability Form (Affinity Schemes only) for any downgrade of plan type (sum assured) or cover type. However, you will not be required to complete the “Declaration of continued insurability questionnaire” section for such request.

Q:How do I upgrade my plan type (sum assured) and my cover from Basic cover to Deluxe cover?A:
You should note that for any upgrade of plan type (sum assured) or cover type, your application will be subject to underwriting. There is also an additional check on the maximum sum assured for an individual life in cases of increasing sum assured.
You will need to fill in and sign the Alteration and Declaration of Continued Insurability Form (Affinity Schemes only) for any upgrade of your plan type (sum assured) or cover type.

Q:Can my husband or wife and children’s plan type (sum assured) and cover type be of a higher coverage than mine?A:
No, the plan type (sum assured) and cover type for your husband or wife and children should not be of a higher coverage than your plan type (sum assured) and cover type unless your plan type (sum assured) and cover type is counter-offered by Income due to underwriting reasons.
