i-MediCare

General
  • Q:Who can purchase i-MediCare?

    A:

    Companies or associations can purchase i-MediCare for their employees or members to take care of their inpatient and outpatient medical needs.

  • Q:Who can be insured?

    A:

    You can insure all your full-time employees or members of your association and their dependants. In the case of insuring your employees, they need to be on the payroll of a Singapore registered company.

  • Q:What is the eligibility age for my employees/members and their dependants?

    A:

    You can refer to the following table for the eligibility age for the respective category of insured.

  • Q:Should coverage be on a compulsory basis?

    A:

    Yes, the cover should be compulsory for all employees within the same job category (e.g. All Executives) or members (e.g. All Committee Members) under the same category. If the policy is extended to cover dependants, all eligible dependants of employees within the same job category or members under the same category should be covered.

  • Q:What is the period of insurance?

    A:

    The period of insurance is one year from the date of commencement or as stated in the policy contract.

  • Q:How are the premiums charged/refunded if an employee joins or leaves the employment of the company?

    A:

    It will depend on the group size or number of employees insured under the policy.

    Policies on Named Basis

    You will need to inform us within 30 days of any employee joining or leaving your company. Please fill in and sign the Group Employee Data Form and mail the completed and signed form to “Income Insurance Limited, Income Centre, 75 Bras Basah Road, Singapore 189557” for the attention of “Group Business (Employee Benefits) Department”.

    For any addition or deletion of members, we will process the pro-rated premium to be charged or refunded to your company. The formula used is as follows.

    (Annual premium rate) X (Number of days / Total number of days in the calendar year) + 7% GST.


    Policies on Headcount Basis

    You are still required to inform us of any addition or deletion of members during the policy year for the issuance of the i-MediCare cards. However, adjustment in the headcount will be made only at the end of policy year. The premium charged will be based on the average headcount at inception and at year-end.

Product Coverage
  • Q:What are the coverage available for me to insure my employees/members?

    A:

    The Inpatient Care benefit is available as a standalone plan, with the option of adding coverage for outpatient expenses. The Company can choose to add Outpatient (Primary and Specialist) Care benefit or just Outpatient (Primary) Care benefit.

  • Q:Can I cover my employees/members under standalone Outpatient Care (Primary Care & Specialist Care)?

    A:

    No, you are not able to purchase for standalone Outpatient Care (Primary Care & Specialist Care) only.

  • Q:Can i-MediCare cover my employees/members for the cost of their vaccinations, health screenings and routine check-ups?

    A:

    No, costs of vaccinations, health screenings and routine check-ups are not covered under i-MediCare.

i Medicare Card
  • Q:How are my employees/members and their dependants recognised as Insured Persons of i-MediCare when they seek outpatient treatments at the Panel clinics?

    A:

    For employees/members and their dependants who are issued with i-MediCare cards, they will need to present the i-MediCare card at the Panel clinic at the point of registration.

  • Q:If my employees/members and their dependants require inpatient treatment, do they need to present the i-MediCare card at the point of registration?

    A:

    For inpatient treatments, Insured Persons need not present the i-MediCare cards as they will need to pay for the medical bill first and subsequently seek reimbursement from us.

  • Q:What happens when my employees/members or their dependants lose or misplace their i-MediCare cards?

    A:

    Your employees/members or their dependants can request for a replacement card with an administrative charge of $10.

    Your employees/members will need to fill in and sign the i-MediCare Card Replacement Form and mail the completed and signed form to “Income Insurance Limited, Income Centre, 75 Bras Basah Road, Singapore 189557” for the attention of “Group Business (Employee Benefits) Department”.

  • Q:What happens if my employees/members or their dependants did not present their i-MediCare cards at the Panel clinic?

    A:

    For non-presentation of i-MediCare card, your employees / members or their dependants will need to pay for the medical bill first and subsequently seek reimbursement from us. You should note that reimbursement will be subject to the benefit limits under non-panel visits.

  • Q:How do I apply for i-MediCare for my employees/members?

    A:

    You can email us your Business Enquiry/Proposal to healthcare@income.com.sg. Alternatively, you can call our hotline at 6332 1133.

  • Q:Is policy renewal guaranteed?

    A:

    No, it is subject to yearly review.

  • Q:Are the premium rates, terms and conditions guaranteed?

    A:

    No, the premium rates, terms and conditions are not guaranteed. Income reserves the right to review and change the premium rates, terms and conditions from time to time if there is a substantial change in the risks or at each renewal.
