  1. What are the objectives of Tutor Referral Service?

    NTUC Income wishes to provide a simple structure for Parents to procure tuition service for their children. It also serves as an alternative channel for the Tutors like you to get assignments.

  2. Who can utilise the Tutor Referral Service?

    The Service is available to all, both policyholders and non-policyholders.

  3. How do I register?

    You can register online.
    After you have registered, you are require to come down personally for an interview with the following documents :-

    1. Original NRIC and,
    2. Original educational certificates (Highest qualification)

  4. How does it work?

    The Parent can call our hotline at 6788 8788. Our staff will select 3 tutors close to their preference and SMS them to contact the Parent for an interview.

  5. Is the Parent obliged to accept the assigned Tutor?

    The Parent is NOT under any obligation to accept the assigned Tutor.

  6. Any charges for the Tutor?

    The service is available to you as follows:-

    1. $30 annual membership fee
    2. $3 per Referral generated.
    The amount will be debited from your account by GIRO

  7. Does NTUC Income set the tuition rates?

    No. The rate is to be agreed between the Parents and Tutor concerned. You may wish to take the following factors into consideration ie. the educational level/experience of the tutor, the educational level of the child, location and regularity of service.

    The following may assist you:-

    Primary Level Students:

    • "O" Level tutors: $150 - $220,
    • "A" Level and Diploma tutors: $160 - $230
    • Degree holder tutors: $180 - $260
    • School Teachers: $350 - $400

    * Above rates are based on a 2 times a week for 1.5 hrs each time.

    Secondary Level Students:

    • "O" Level tutors are not allowed to tutor secondary school level
    • "A" Level and Diploma tutors: $23/hr - $40/hr,
    • Degree holder tutors: $28/hr - $45/hr
    • School Teachers: $40/hr - $60/hr

    * The above rates are only indicative and calculated based on per hour basis. Once a week, 2 hrs per visit.

  8. What should the Tutor do if he/she is not available to take on any more assignment?

    The Tutor can inform us by email at benefits@income.com.sg or fax to us at
    6587 0542 to place a hold on the account. This would bar further SMS to your handphone.

    The Account may be reactivated upon Tutor's instruction through the same channel. Tutor may be required to re-submit the application again.
