Where should the death be registered if a Singaporean dies overseas?
Overseas deaths should be registered at the respective country where the person died. The nex-of-kin can inform the Registry of Births and Deaths of the dealth by producing the certificate for them to update their records.
Where should the deceased's Identity Card be returned?
Deceased's IC should be returned to Singapore Immigration and Registration either by post or personally together with a copy of the deceased's death certificate.
Which Authority should the deceased's family apply to in order to have the body brought back to Singapore for burial/cremation?
They should apply to the Port Health Office (Ministry of Environment) who will issue the Import permit and Burial/Cremation permit.
