   Only a child who has attained the age of 16 years can buy an insurance policy in his/her own name and become the policyholder. Children over the age of 10 years but below 16 can buy an insurance policy and become the policyholder, provided they have the written consent of their parent or guardian.

   NTUC Income may allow your son to sign up for an insurance policy if we are satisfied from medical evidence that your son has sufficient mental capacity to enter into a contract of insurance.
   
   Persons who are of unsound mind or mentally disordered are not allowed to sign up for any insurance policies. However, if you have been appointed by the court as a deputy to make decisions on behalf of your son, NTUC Income may consider an application by you as deputy to sign up for an insurance policy on behalf of your son.
