NTUC Income will pay compensation under a PA policy if the insured sustains a bodily injury due to a sudden, unforeseen and fortuitous event that results in the insured suffering death, disablement or injury.
- What is the coverage included under the basic package?
- Death within 12 months of accident - Sum insured is paid.
- Total permanent disablement within 12 months of accident - A percentage of the sum insured is paid depending on the disablement.
- Medical expenses - A specified amount is paid provided the expenses are incurred within 12 months of the accident.
- Death within 12 months of accident - Sum insured is paid.
- Is there any age limit under the PA policy?
For new applications the policy will not only cover any person of Age below fifteen (15) days old or over the age of sixty five (65) years old unless specifically allowed. The policy is renewable up to age seventy five (75)
- When must a claim under the policy be notified?
The notice of claim must be given within 30 days from the date of accident.
- What are the exclusions under the policy?
Generally, there will be no payment for claims resulting from:
- any Pre-Existing Medical Conditions or physical defect or infirmity;
- war risks;
- nuclear risks;
- wilful exposure to perils (except to save a life);
- criminal act;
- motorcycling including pillion riding;
- self injury, suicide/attempted suicide, provoked assault, drugs, intoxication, insanity, pregnancy or childbirth, venereal disease, and physical defect;
- flying except as a fare paying passenger in a licensed passenger carrying aircraft;
- engaging in any hazardous activities/sports like rock climbing (except on man-made walls), parachuting, professional sports (for which the Insured Person would or could earn or receive any form of remuneration), mountaineering necessitating the use of ropes , any underwater activities involving the use of underwater breathing apparatus and other hazardous activities; and
- participation in naval, military and air force activities except for peacetime military training and exercises for full time national servicemen, military personnel and national servicemen.
- How can the policy be cancelled?
NTUC Income may cancel the policy by giving 7 days' notice to the insured at the last known address. The insured may cancel the policy by notification in writing. The cancellation will take effect from the date of receipt of the notice of cancellation.
