Mdm Teo (not her real name) was a policyholder with NTUC Income since October 1994. At the age of 40 then, she chose to purchase an Endowment policy using her CPF savings.
This endowment plan not only provides coverage for death and total permanent disability, it also promises the full sum assured plus all bonuses to the policyholder when the policy reaches maturity.
Unfortunately, in 1995, Mdm Teo was diagnosed with breast cancer. She faced and battled with this dreadful disease courageously, not giving up hope as she had four young children and a loving husband who needed her. During these traumatic days, our sales representative willingly provided care and aid to the family.
After 4 long years of fighting the disease, Mdm Teo passed away on April 1999. The death claim was immediately submitted by the sales representative. Within 3 days, the sum assured of $100,000 was paid to her family and helped greatly to alleviate their financial difficulties.
Though we grieve with the deceased's family, NTUC Income is still glad to have fulfilled our promise and brought financial relief to Mdm Teo's loved ones.
