A policyholder, Mdm Sim, went to Malaysia for holiday. The tour bus stopped at Kuala Lumpur for breakfast, after which she went for a stroll with her husband as there was some time left before the bus would leave.
Suddenly a lorry started reversing towards Mdm Sim. They had no time to react and Mdm Sim was knocked down. She was rushed to the General Hospital but unfortunately passed away. The distraught family members arranged for her body to be brought back to Singapore. Mdm Sim had taken up a Personal Accident policy for $20,000 and this was paid to the beneficiaries. Although it could not compensate them for her loss, it helped to relieve the burden of funeral expenses.
