Madam Lim went to Korea for a holiday with her family. Unfortunately along the way, she fell ill and was sent to hospital where she passed away. The family members were distraught and did not know how to bring her body back to Singapore.

Madam Lim had taken up a travel policy through INCOME's Travel Insureline which provides access to International SOS, and they called SOS for help. SOS took over the case and handled all the liaisions with the authorities in both Korea and Singapore to obtain the necessary permits for repatriation as well as arranged for the transportation of the body back to Singapore, where her family arranged for a traditional funeral for her.

The fees for repatriation came up to around $14,000.00, of which $10,000.00 will be paid by INCOME under the travel policy. However more importantly, the policy provided the insured with assistance in obtaining permits and papers in a strange land where her family members would otherwise be helpless and at a loss as to what to do.
