From 1 June 2008, if policyholder/driver meets with a motor accident (whether
claiming under own policy or not) you must report with accident vehicle
(whether damage or not) to our reporting centres at IDAC within 24 hours or latest,
the next working day after the accident, before you send your car to the workshop.
If
you have taken digital photographs of the accident/vehicles/scene, IDAC will
assist you to upload them to us.
IDAC will then certify the extent of the damage
and photograph the damage. It does not assess the repair cost.
All IDACs are
opened 24 hours to receive accident vehicles. However for making an accident
report and/or damage assessment, please take note of the respective IDACs' operating
hours. You can call them before making the trip down.
Failure to report
or late reporting is a breach of policy condition. It
will result in reduction of insured's NCD and their claim may be prejudiced.
